Do you know WHAT YOU WANT IN LIFE?

Do you know WHAT YOU WANT IN LIFE?

I know, this may sound like a stupid question…

You’ll be surprised but most people DON”T know what they want from life!!!

Remember when we were kids, our parents, teachers, relatives and friends have asked us so many times this tremendously important question : WHO do you want to become in your life?

So why do we stop asking ourselves this question once we grow up?

Maybe because we have already achieved everything we’ve been dreaming about? Honestly, I don’t think so…

Have you heard the French expression “Métro, boulot, dodo”?

In English ”commute, work, sleep” doesn’t sound so poetic, it means the rat rate, the same old routine, we live to work…

This sounds sad, right?

Unfortunately, people are so caught in their routine tasks that they don’t actually stop for long enough to check and see whether they are actually going in the DIRECTION THAT THEY WANT TO BE GOING IN LIFE!!!!!!

When this happens some people can end up going round and round in circles FOR YEARS, even for a LIFETIME (!!!) feeling like ‘a small boat on the ocean’ or like ‘a leaf in the wind’ saying “YES” to what they don’t want and saying “NO” to their dreams.

I’ve worked with a client who was going through a roller coaster of emotions, mentally and emotionally exhausted after a painful breakup, feeling guilty for losing (as she said) the best years of her life with a man who didn’t even want to know what she was dreaming about and who she was aspiring to become. She suffered from being unfulfilled, worthless, insignificant, useless in her own eyes. Yes, she lived a comfortable life... yet NOT HERS!

What happened next was even more paradoxical and illogical, she felt even more confused and stuck after their breakup.

She said she ‘lost herself’ or who she thought she was.

It’s interesting, she spent so many years living someone else’s life, and when she got out of this “toxic” relationship, she knew even less about who she was and WHAT SHE WANTED FROM LIFE.

(I’ll talk much more about “IDENTITY” in my future posts. I’m really passionate about this subject. We'll see how our personal mission statement and our success interconnect with our core identity.)

Our main focus at that stage of her life was to find her biggest dream, that inspiring vision of her future, and to get a clear understanding that this life is 100% of her responsibility.

So do you see now why it is so important to know what YOU really WANT in life.

Not having a clear idea of what you want from life holds you back from GREATNESS and often leads to an unremarkably AVERAGE (often unfulfilling but comfortable) LIFE where you do the same as everyone else just because that’s what everyone else is doing.

There are so many ways to be average. Don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being AVERAGE. Being AVERAGE is fine if you are happy that way and if this is what you want in life.

But ‘playing it safe” holds you back from achieving greatness in your life.

That’s why DECIDING WHAT YOU REALLY WANT from life and taking this decision seriously, can change your life for better, increasing your chances of being happier and living a more fulfilling life.

Your GREATEST LIFE VISION outlines the ideal outcome for your own life. It’s your mission statement which inspires, motivates and drives you out of bed every morning and encourages you to take action towards achieving your goals.

To help you define YOUR greatest life vision ask yourself these 2 ‘simple’ questions:

- What does SUCCESS mean to me? How do I define personal success?

- How do I want to be remembered? Do I want to leave something meaningful behind that’s gonna outlive me?

Answering honestly these questions should help you determine your greatest life vision, and see how to be successful today and every single day.It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
